Croston
Croston Village
This lovely little village is a delight to visit and although not very big has some nice walks and good pubs. Check out the small bridge over the river yarrow.
Walk down church street to see the church, on the school wall opposite there is a memorial to the benefactor a James Kies who apparently as the locals say was a bit of a lad.
Walk through churchyard to the Heritage trail the kids can explore the path and find the wooden sculptures of animals on the way.
The village has several good pubs serving excellent food and drink.
