This lovely Cotswold village is located on the edge of the Cotswold hills about three miles from Broadway, this picturesque village is constructed from Cotswold stone and is mentioned in Pevsner’s guides. The Cotswold Way runs through the village.

Photographers will appreciate this village as there are photographic opportunities at every turn indeed may of the views are already used in calendars and postcards of the area. Film buffs might be interested to know that an episode of The Sherlock Holmes series, The Last Vampire, staring Jeremy Brett was filmed here.

Historic buildings include St. Michael's Church (Late Norman), Stanton Court (Jacobean) and The Manor (or "Warren House") (built 1577).

Charles Wesley and John Wesley were known to be frequent visitors to Stanton visiting Lionel and Robert Kirkham who were rectors of St. Michaels. The king of Mercia Kenulf gave the tithes of the village to the Benedictine Abbey of Winchcombe.
