Snowshill Bridget Jones and Lavender
This beautiful little Cotswold village sits high up on an escarpment overlooking Laverton,
the village was the setting for Bridget Jones mums house.
The tiny church of St Barnabas sits on the green surrounded by picturesque Cotswold stone buildings there is also a nice pub. facing the green.
An important early bronze age hoard was found outside Snowshill in the late nineteenth century.The items are now in the British Museum's collection.
Nearby is Snowshill Manor, a National Trust property open to the public. The manor house contains an unusual collection of furniture, musical instruments, craft tools, toys, clocks, bicycles and armour, all collected by the collector architect and craftsman Charles Paget Wade between 1900 and 1951.
The garden is laid out in unusual outdoor room designs making use of the foliage colours and scents to give an overall experience.
Snowshill Lavender is also an important local industry.
