Machynlleth

In welsh history Machynlleth is famous as the place of Owain Glyndwrs parliament which was established in 1404, the house has been restored and is now the Owain Glyndwr centre. History buffs will know that he was the last native leader of the welsh and is a national hero having led a determined uprising against the English.

The town is establishing itself as the green capitol of Wales with its centre for alternative technology C.A.T; this is a superb place to visit with many interesting exhibitions and displays. The centre covers a large area and has interactive displays, workshops and all manner of displays about living green.

Many topics are covered such as recycling, composting, renewable energy and organic gardening just to name a few, there are also residential courses available as well as Games and workshops for children. The centre is mainly outdoors so raincoats should be taken.
