Presteigne Llanandras

This one time border coaching town lay on the main London to Aberystwyth route and consequently there were up to 30 inns dedicated to this trade.

Presteigne is in the old county of Radnorshire right on the border with England, the town is quaint and a pleasant place to explore full of Georgian and Victorian buildings sitting in some beautiful countryside.

The name Presteigne is believed to be Saxon derived from the word Presthemede household of the priests. The welsh name for the town is Llanandras from St Andrews the name of the 14th century church.

The Judges Lodgings a 19th century courthouse has an interesting audio guided tour of the towns past history.
