Crickhowell

The town of Crickhowell sits on the banks of the river Usk facing the town of Llangattock on the opposite, side these two pretty villages are joined by the famous 17th century stone bridge that has 12 arches one side and 13 on the other.

Crickhowell is named after Crug Hywel better known as Table Mountain, which is to the north of the town.

The town grew around a Norman castle much of which is now just ruins save for a few towers; there are lovely trails up to the mountain and to an Iron Age hill fort.
