This city is now as expensive as London grown rich on North Sea fuels, the many fine hotels restaurants and clubs cater for the oil rich clientele.
The cultural attractions thankfully are free with an excellent art gallery and maritime museum there are things to see and do here that will not cost the earth.
Aberdeen is known as the Granite City due to the constructing of many of the buildings in the local silver grey granite.
Inland you can explore the whisky producing areas to the west or the sandy beaches to the north.
