Applecross

This remote village is set in some stunning scenery with great views of Raasay and the Skye hills, until the last century this settlement was practically cut off from the rest of the area with only rough tracks making it accessible along with the breath-taking route through the Bealach-na – Ba pass.

Today there is also a coastal route to the town whichever way you choose the scenery as you make your way is stunning particularly the route through the pass the views as the road drops toward the town is amazing. In main season the accommodation options can be limited the campsite and pub are very popular.

The town was established in the 7th century when an Irish saint set up a religious community eventually to be destroyed by Vikings.
