Glasgow is Scotland’s biggest city it is a place of contrasts and over the years has undergone a regeneration from a grim dark industrial town to one of Britain most interesting destinations.
Glasgow grew rich on seaborne trade with tobacco from the new world being a major commodity later the city became one of the biggest and best engineering and shipbuilding centres n Britain.
The city is full of Victorian buildings that are now given over to restaurants and cafes with trendy shops and boutiques. The live music scene is also well represented here along with a great nightlife.
Glasgow also boasts some excellent museums and art galleries where the city’s heritage is well documented. Glasgow’s most famous son the Victorian designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh who’s’ work s can be seen all over the city is now celebrated.
