One of the many chocolate box villages in this area the town also has an impressive castle and very old church. The castle dates from 1228 and was built by Hubert De burgh on a previous Norman site. In the summer picnickers camp on the grass, the ice cream shop opposite doing a good trade. The ancient St Bridget’s church is near the castle remains in a small tower.
This area of wales is great for walking and cycling with many paths sand trails to explore, just over the border is Garway complete with its Knight Templar church.
