Lacock village and Abbey


Visiting the tiny village of lacock is like stepping back in time the village and abbey are owned by the national trust.

The buildings are a showcase of many styles of village architecture with no building later than the 18th century.

The village is a joy to walk round and explore and once you have savoured the delights of the village, you can visit the Abbey with its 13th century cloisters sacristy and ruins there is plenty to see here.

The kids will love to explore here especially as some scenes from harry potter were filmed here.

Set in a picturesque setting next to the river Avon it was once home to William Henry Fox Talbot the inventor and pioneer of photography the barn houses a great exhibition about his work as well as other related exhibitions concerning photography.
