Aberystwyth

Aberystwyth is known as one of the liveliest towns in wales thanks to its young student population and the university.

Sitting on Cardigan Bay it is great to stop here while touring the beautiful coastline of Ceredigion. The Welsh language is widely spoken here and the locals are justifiably very proud of their heritage and culture.

This essentially Georgian town and seaside resort has a lovely promenade lined with colorful houses here you can sit and unwind soaking in the view.

The national library of wales is situated on the outskirts of the town it holds millions of books in several languages. The most important room in the museum is the Hengwrt room it is in this room that the 13th century Tintern Abbey bible is located along with other important manuscripts such as the 12th century black book of Carmarthen. There are also exhibitions and displays through the year.

Other attraction include a small museum as well as the Vale of Rheidol railway and the cliff railway this takes you slowly to the top of the cliffs for breath-taking views of the surrounding area at the top check out the Camera Obscura.

Nearby there e are plenty of walking opportunities and trails such as the Ystwyth trail which was once and old railway track is great for cycling as well.
