Porlock
One visited by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth Porlock was a favourite place of these romantic poets, Coleridge lived nearby at Nether Stowe.
The coastal village is one of the prettiest on the north Exmoor coast; the attractive collection of thatched timeless cottages nestled between the sea on one side and pretty houses clothing the sides of a steep sloping hill on the other is lovely.
This traditional picturesque Exmoor village has plenty of shops to explore as well as places of interest nearby, these include:
Porlock Weir complete with great views and a fine shingle beach.
Selworthy which is part of the Holnicote estate owned by the national trust, a pretty collection of thatched cottages rebuilt by the philanthropist Thomas Acland.
