The town of Beaconsfield was on the London to Oxford coaching road today some of the coaching Inns still survive, including the Royal white hart where queen Elizabeth I is reputed to have stayed.

The town has many famous associations with many locations in the town used in several films, the National Film and television school is also located here.

Films and TV series filmed here include, James Bonds Thunderball, Hot Fuzz, Midsummer murders, Inspector Morse and Lewis. Several scenes form the famous film brief encounter were also shot here.
Beaconsfield is an affluent place and named Britain’s richest town, the town is situated adjacent to the Chilterns hills an AONB.

Terry Pratchett the author was born here, other famous authors include GK Chesterton who lived, and died here his grave is in the local catholic cemetery. The British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli lived nearby in Hughenden manor.

Bekonscot Model village is close to the station here you will find a complete miniature village in 1 in to 1 ft. scale with church and shops and working models such as trains.
