Market town of Thame

The attractive Oxfordshire market town of Thame is known for its wide main street this space has overtime been encroached upon resulting in buildings being built here such as the pretty town hall.

Thame has a wealth of architecturally interesting and diverse buildings from cottages to beautiful Georgian buildings as well as medieval constructions. The birdcage Inn is an amazing example of this the building was once used as the prison.

The town is pleasant and has a good number of shops to browse and plenty of Pubs to retire to for refreshment.

The parish church is noted for a 15th tomb of Lord William of Thame and his wife, Thame was also the site of a Cistercian abbey but this disappeared in the dissolution apparently some of the stone was use to build Thame park the 18th century mansion just outside the town.
